Project Overview

This case study showcases the BIM coordination and CAD to BIM expertise our specialists bring to VectorQX, demonstrated by their prior success in the Oman Botanic Garden development project.

The Oman Botanic Garden is a landmark initiative under the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Oman, designed to celebrate the country’s native plant species, natural landscapes, and cultural traditions. Located near Al Khodh, Muscat, the development spans approximately 430 hectares within a protected natural reserve surrounded by Oman’s northern mountain ranges.

The project involved the development of coordinated BIM environments supporting planning, visualization, interdisciplinary coordination, and efficient project execution for this large-scale sustainable infrastructure and landscape development.

Client Challenge

The project presented several technical and environmental coordination challenges due to its scale, ecological sensitivity, and multidisciplinary scope.
Key project challenges included:

  • Integrating new infrastructure within a protected natural reserve
  • Preserving existing landscapes while supporting future development requirements
  • Managing extensive environmental, botanical, and design-related data
  • Coordinating architecture, landscape, structural, and MEP systems within a unified BIM environment
  • Maintaining model accuracy and consistency across disciplines
  • Identifying and resolving design clashes at early project stages
  • Supporting visualization and planning for a large-scale sustainable development
